Description

Tarragon (Artemisia dracunculus) is a perennial herbaceous plant from the Asteraceae family.

The name tarragon is said to come from the Persian name for tarragon, tarkhūn. Others claim it comes from the French esdragon, which means “little dragon”.

Tarragon is also known as French tarragon, little dragon, mugwort or herbe au dragon. The plant reaches a height of 4-5 feet and has slender, branched stems. The glossy green leaves are lanceolate with a smooth margin and grow 2-8 cm long and 2-10 mm wide. Tarragon produces flowers in small capitula with a diameter of 2-4 mm. Each capitulum contains up to 40 yellow or greenish-yellow flowers.

Some tarragon plants produce seeds that are usually sterile, while others produce viable seeds. French tarragon rarely produces flowers or seeds. Tarragon has rhizomatous roots and can easily reproduce from these rhizomes. As a wholesaler and supplier, we offer high-quality tarragon in organic and conventional quality.
